Team Name: Le Freak Show
Occupation: Massage & Beauty Therapist
My name is Alana Richards. Formerly Nichols, but most people know me as Lan. I own Balance Massage and Beauty. I am married to Andy and have an incredible daughter, Milla and a fur baby Bozzie. I have two siblings - an older sister and brother, both who have competed in dancing with the stars in previous years. I am a Cooma local through and through and super excited to be involved in such an important cause.Why am I participating in hot city disco 🪩:
I’ll be honest, I had momentary regrets initially about agreeing to participate, but with doubts can come reality checks and they really helped to make my decision. I am so proud of the mcCr and the work that they have been able to do for the wider Monaro community and for my mum and uncle Mark who are without doubt my reason why I said yes!!
Mum, along with my dad are my greatest inspiration, to me and my siblings. We are so glad she is here with us and is able to celebrate a third child participating in this AMAZING fundraiser!!
I am looking forward to the challenge and super proud to be apart of this amazing event!

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
