I’m father of 2 children, have been living in the Snowies for over 10 years now, initially moving here to work for the Blyton Group on Snow FM but now a full-time aviation firefighter in Canberra as well as being a member of Fire & Rescue in Cooma and participate in several community activities. I attempt to play golf in my spare time and now I will be doing dance rehearsals.
How did I end up here? Well it started out as peer pressure and turned into more peer pressure.
However, cancer has touched us all in some way or another and I’m always up for helping out a good cause and the MCCR does an amazing job across the region and Sandy doesn’t take no for an answer.

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
