NAME Dane Martin

OCCUPATION Builder with Jindabyne Homes

GROUP NAME Summit Soul Shakers

I made the move from the coast to Berridale back in 2006. Living here with my lovely wife and our two young boys, aged 2 and 5.

When I'm not on the tools, you can usually find casting a line for some fishing, kicking a ball around the soccer field, or enjoying a cold schooner down at the local pub.

I've saved my moves for the dance floors at weddings in the past, stepping out for Hot City Disco is definitely out of my comfort zone.

Because life's too short, especially when it's for a good cause! Cancer hits close to home for many of us, and being part of Hot City Disco is to raise funds for those battling cancer on the Monaro felt like the perfect opportunity to make a difference. Plus, who wouldn't want to bust a move and spread some joy while raising money to support our community? So, here I am, ready to cha-cha for a cause, shimmy for support, and tango my way to making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by cancer.

Donate to make a difference

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated

The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
