Story
NAME Erin Dwyer
OCCUPATION Oncology Nurse Unit Manager
GROUP NAME Le Freak Show
I am a mum to two surly teenage girls, who weren’t exactly thrilled to find out I was going to be performing in the next show. They promptly pointed out to me I can’t dance, which is true, but that won’t be stopping me. HAHA
I love skiing, camping and netball. I have lived in Cooma on and off for 7 years and absolutely love the community and the area.
I have worked as a nurse for nearly 20 years and the majority of my career has been in Cancer services and I very much value the support MCCR gives to the patients in this area.
After work I love walking my dog Benson in the bush surrounding Cooma. I can’t think of anywhere I would rather live!
I have had a long association with MCCR given my work. They have supported many of the patients I care for both past and present.
They are also primarily responsible for the unit existing in Cooma and I feel extremely grateful to be able to practice in my speciality area and live here in a community that I absolutely love being a part of.
Given the support I receive in my role, I feel a bit of dancing is the least i can do 😊

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
