Story
NAME Freya Woodhouse
OCCUPATION Pharmacist

I am a proud, born and bred “Berridalian”, where I currently own and operate the Berridale Pharmacy. When I'm not serving the community through the pharmacy, I am ensuring my two children have their regular baby-chino’s (with marshmallows of course) from the local coffee shop, helping on my parent’s cattle farm or reading a good book!
Aside from violating the occasional wedding dance floor, I have zero dancing skills!
I am participating in the MCCR fundraiser because, as a pharmacist, I witness the devastating impact that cancer has on patients and their loved ones daily. From the challenging treatments to the emotional toll it takes, I understand the struggles that families face when dealing with this disease. However, I also have the privilege of seeing firsthand how organizations like MCCR can provide invaluable support and resources to these families during such difficult times. By participating in this fundraiser, I hope to do my part in helping MCCR continue their vital work in assisting those affected by cancer.
P.S I am a closet disco fan and have been known to enjoy wearing flared pants in the early 2000’s!

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
