We moved to Cooma 19 years ago and have made wonderful friends and have found a very caring community here. My husband and I have 3 beautiful daughters and 5 wonderful grandchildren with another one on the way. I have worked at Monaro High School since moving here and love being part of the Cooma community
I decided to be part of this fantastic fundraiser as since living here we have seen the fantastic work MCCR has done in raising money for local people who have faced cancer and the many struggles associated with it both emotionally and financially. My mother had Bowel Cancer many years ago and had she have been living in such a caring community she to would have had support from this wonderful committee during that time. I am honoured to have been asked to be part of this amazing cause.

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
