Story

I am one of 4 daughters of Garry and Michelle Ingram from Delegate. I grew up on our family property Karinya at Delegate where I am now the 5th generation farming there.

After completing my tertiary education studying Bachelor of Science - Ag through CSU Wagga Wagga I took up an agronomy role in central QLD where me and my then partner lived for 12 months. We then felt the tug of home and returned to the Monaro.

We chose to move home because we love it here. We love the people, the community, the culture and the surroundings. It’s not until you travel away that I think you really come to appreciate how spoilt we are nestled here between the mountains and the coast.

I married my best friend Clay Clear in 2014 and we now have 3 gorgeous girls including 6 year twins. We run an electrical contracting buisness alongside our prime lamb and beef cattle farming systems. We enjoy camping together and spending time as a family on our properties at Mila and Delegate.

I accepted the challenge of becoming a Hot City Disco participant because I seen it as an opportunity to give back to our community. I feel privileged to have been asked and be supported by my family to help make a difference in our area.

Our family has been victim to cancer loosing Clays mum in 2012 to a brain tumour and then Clays Grandfather and Aunty in 2014 and 2019. Clay’s sister in law also fought and won against breast cancer in 2015. We know first hand how tough things can get especially when there are young families involved. More recently one of my childhood besties has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and it just really brought home how cancer doesn’t discriminate and you just never know when you or your family or friends will be in need of assistance to fight this hideous disease.

Together the MCCR are making a difference. Locals are helping locals! I’m excited and a tad nervous for what’s to come but I’m sure it will be fun filled with plenty of entertainment value!

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated

The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
