Story
My name is Rachael Schouten, thank you for visiting my page… hopefully to make a precious donation!
Born and raised in Cooma, my husband Neil and I have 4 beautiful children, 2 girls and 2 boys. I work at Snowy Hydro, managing the Technology Operations team. You’ll find me at home on a basketball & netball court, on the slopes or the water, pretty much anywhere, before you’d ever see me on a stage! Having said that, I'm excited to share with you my journey of stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing the world of dance, all in the name of a great cause.
Although I've never danced before, the opportunity to participate in this MccR event was too good to pass up. While it initially seemed daunting, I've come to realise that this is about more than just learning a few steps – it's really about making a small difference and challenging myself along the way.
MCCR embodies community & compassion. Run by volunteers, it resonates deeply with me, and I'm honored to be a part of something so meaningful.

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
